Aldo Mondino. From A to Z: from acrylic to sugar
9 June – 10 September 2000
Turin, Civic Gallery
curated by Vittoria Coen

The Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Trento presents to the public, from 10 June to 10 September, the exhibition “Aldo Mondino from A to Z: from acrylic to sugar”, featuring around forty works on display in the Gallery and several bronze sculptures situated in the city centre, forming a route stretching from the Cathedral to the Gallery itself. The exhibition, which spans a period from his early works of the 1960s and 1970s to the most recent stages of his artistic exploration, includes works created using sugar (Delicatessen), caramel, chocolate (Scultura un corno), coffee (Raccolto in preghiera), Heraclitus (the well-known tapestries exhibited during the 1993 Venice Biennale, in the private exhibition room), ceramics (the turbans) and glass (Iznik).
The exhibition will also feature previously unseen works created immediately after Mondino’s recent trip to India, as well as the three pieces Iznik, Hierros and India, which will be published as covers for Zanichelli’s annual editions, as part of a collaboration between the leading publishing house and the Galleria Civica d’Arte Contemporanea.
