The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Pavia presents, from 20 November 2021 to 28 February 2022 (opening 19 November 2021 at 6.00 pm), at the Civic Museums of the Visconti Castle (Sala del Rivellino), "Marginalia. The Forms of Freedom", an exhibition rich in visionary worlds and eclectic personalities.
The exhibition features over thirty works, including canvases, large-scale works on paper and installations. The protagonists are thirteen contemporary artists, both Italian and international: Silvia Argiolas, Francesco Bocchini, Claudio Costa, Severine Gambier, Gilberto Giovagnoli, Giuliano Guatta, Yayoi Kusama, Madmeg, Aldo Mondino, Mattia Moreni, Carol Rama, Nicola Troilo and Carlo Zinelli.
These are artists who, in order to express themselves in total freedom, have worked outside the mainstream and brought their uncompromising personalities into the art world, sometimes clashing with the art system itself. All this conveys the experience of a free art, just as their personalities are free, where marginality is not therefore endured but is a genuine choice that allows one to observe reality in all its complexity.
